Jikmiamihrbunvauxon, known to his friends as Jik, was born to a family of devil worshipping cultists in the city of Restov. They believed that, because he was a Tiefling, his birth was a great blessing. His parents were both sorcerers, and believed that their infernal powers were passed onto their son. Evidently, this was not correct. From a very young age they tried to force him to use his sorcerous powers for their benefit, only to eventually find out he had no sorcerous powers to speak of. Annoyed by this turn of events, they hired a tutor, an Elf by the name of Atharva, to teach him various dark arcane arts. Jik was a very good student, even though he really had no desire to learn all the evil nonsense they were forcing on him. He eventually decided that he had had enough and fled from his parents home, disappearing into the city.
Jik spent some time on the streets before being taken in by a kindly priest of Erastil. Jik worked in the church for a few years before his parents’ cult caught up to him, and he was forced to flee again. The priest assisted him with this and smuggled him into the nearby River Kingdoms. From there, Jik fled far to the west, close to the Ustalav border where he came across a small farmstead. He offered his services to the man who owned the farm and worked there until the man died. He had no children, so Jik took over the farm after his death. Years later, his old friend Atharva came to him and asked him to come work with him and his new employers, a group called “The Whispering Way”. He knew that Jik was a natural when it came to the arcane, and needed his assistance with some project they were working on. Jik declined, as he was happy with his simple life as a farmer. The next day, he was kidnapped and taken deep into Ustalav.
